What has worked for me

I have tried to incorporate as many of the lifestyle changes as possible into my life. However, like a lot of people with POTS, I have a lot of sensitivities and can’t do all of the recommended things.

These are not sponsored, they’re what works for me.

Heart rate tracker

I own a Fitbit Sense. It’s a little buggy, but it takes my heart rate continuously and is water proof. I use it with the app Cardiogram to find patterns.

I originally bought an Apple Watch because it is the most accurate of the heart rate watches. I owned one for a week. It sadly only checked my heart rate every 15-20 minutes which wasn’t frequent enough to be helpful to me.

Salt tablets

Salt Stick

I buy Salt Stick brand salt tablets. They have many options and don’t have a bunch of a stuff in them that I can’t consume (I have foods that I have to avoid).

You can get them at their online store or on Amazon

Compression socks

FIGS Compression Socks

I wear Figs brand compression socks. Figs is made for medical professionals. They aren’t the most comfortable because they’re quite tight. They’re the only brand of compression sock that has prevented my feet from swelling while I fly.

Corsets

I am allergic to most stretchy fabrics. Because of that, I can’t wear most compression clothes. I’ve found that wearing a corset can help prevent fainting and other POTS symptoms.

Dark Garden Corsetry

I bought my corset pre-pandemic at their San Fransisco location. Their website has a page on medical corsetry and they offer a medical discount— you just have to ask.

Corset Story

I have friends who own corsets from here. I’ve never bought one, but my friends love their corsets. Corset Story also offers corset shirts.
